HOW FRAGILE ARE THE SOLAR PANELS?

The solar panels are scratch resistant, waterproof, and highly durable. They are built to be used outdoors while hiking and will not be damaged if rain/weather occurs during your activity. The panels weigh less than 1/2 pound.

HOW FAST WILL A BIRKSUN CHARGE MY PHONE?

All BirkSun bags store solar power energy in a battery that will charge your smartphone or tablet at the same speed as a wall outlet. Every 3 minutes the solar panel is exposed to direct sunlight it will generate the equivalent of 1% smartphone battery power. From wall outlets, the battery inside the bag will be recharged 1% every minute.

ARE THE BAG AND SOLAR PANEL WATERPROOF?

Yes, all BirkSun solar panels are waterproof, lightweight, and highly durable. Bags are built to withstand rain/wind, however, they cannot be submerged in water.

Do I need to purchase a battery bank or charging cords?

Yes, if the solar kit doesn’t already have these. Not all ready-made solar backpacks have them though. Depending on what you plan to charge, you may need an external battery bank with the matching cords and cable heads for your devices.
